Ruby Soho: I’m ‘Grateful’ For My WWE Run, But AEW Offers Me A Whole New Side Of Wrestling

Ruby Soho is excited to show different sides of herself and work with some of the world’s “elite” women’s wrestlers

In a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Soho looked back on her time in WWE, now that she has offically entered the next chapter of her career. She expressed her gratitude for her run with the company, but with her new home in AEW, she’s looking forward to show the world what she can do. Roho also stated that she’s looking forward to seeing a new side of the wrestling business in AEW while she showcases previously unexplored layers of herself as a performer.

“I was able to experience a lot in WWE and make lifelong friends, so I’m very grateful for my time there,” said Soho. “But that chapter is closed, and I knew there had to be a new place for me. This is a chance to experience a side of professional wrestling I haven’t experienced yet. There is a fire here, and there is a lot for me to show the world. There are a lot of sides to what I do that have yet to flourish, and I am going to put it all out there in AEW.”

Soho won the Casino Battle Royale in her debut at AEW All Out, so she has earned a shot at AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker. The AEW newcomer hyped up this upcoming bout by teasing that it’s only a matter of times before fans see her beat the champion up.

“Britt Baker is one of the hardest working people in the industry,” said Soho. “But I know she has never stepped into the ring with someone like me. I don’t know if she’s ready for the fight I’m going to bring her.

“Now that I’m in AEW, I can’t wait for people to see how I work alongside some of the most talented women in the world. And I’m really excited for the moment when people see me knock Britt Baker’s teeth down her throat.”

Reflecting on the turbulent journey she has taken in the wrestling world, particularly in recent years, Soho acknowledged the difficult path, but she stated that the fans’ support brought her to AEW, and she’ll reward them by giving it her all in this new stage of her career.

“It’s been a long journey with a lot of bumps in the road, but I’m here to make my destiny,” said Soho. “I’ve had my share of insecurities and doubt. But if it weren’t for the fans, I wouldn’t be here. They saw something in me and they want to see more, and they’re going to get the best of me in AEW.”

Soho won her first singles match in AEW this past week on Dynamite, so it’s fair to say her run with the company is off to a strong start.
