WWE SmackDown Overnight Viewership Falls, Ties For Top Spot In Key Demo On 9/25

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Results

The overnight viewership for WWE SmackDown dropped again this week. This is despite the fact that it was the go-home show for the 2021 Extreme Rules pay-per-view and featured a match between Roman Reigns and Montez Ford in the third time that Roman Reigns wrestled this week.

Per overnight viewership numbers reported by TV Series Finale, WWE SmackDown drew 2.09 million viewers on September 24. This number is down from last week, which drew 2.243 million viewers by the final tally.  As far as the key 18 to 49-year-old demographic, the show scored a 0.5 rating making it the co-holder of the top spot for the night along with Big Brother on CBS.

This week featured Roman Reigns in competition against Montez Ford and in the closing moments of the show, he received a beating by Finn Balor with a steel chair. The show also featured the final hype for Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair and the latest development in the storyline where Naomi is trying to find a place on the main roster of WWE television despite a clear aversion to this from Sonya Deville.
