WWE RAW Viewership And Demographic Rating Drop On 9/27, Show Struggles Against Monday Night Football

WWE RAW viewership dropped this week, even with a WWE Championship Match advertised to start the show.

Showbuzz Daily reports that 1.709 million viewers watched the show on Septepmber 27; this number is down from the 1.793 million viewers who watched last week.

In the 18 to 49 demographic, RAW scored a 0.48 rating. This number marks a slight decrease from last week’s 0.49 rating. Last week’s show enjoyed a substantial increase in both overall and demographic viewership, but the numbers were back down this week.

The hourly breakdown is as follows:

  • Hour One:  1.818 million viewers; 0.49 in the 18 to 49 demographic
  • Hour Two: 1.714 million viewers; 0.48 demographic rating
  • Hour Three: 1.596 million viewers; 0.46 demographic rating

The report from Showbuzz notes that Monday Night Football on ESPN led cable with 12.9 million viewers and a 4.11 rating in the same demographic.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the viewership for RAW dropped 5% compared to last week, but the demographic rating only decreased 2%. Thurston states that the show ranked seventh overall in the 18 to 49 demographic on cable.

This week’s show kicked off with an advertised WWE Championship Match between Big E and Bobby Lashley. The two stars faced off again in a steel cage match in the main event. Monday’s show also featured the fallout of the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
