CM Punk: ‘I Get Excited When Adam Cole’s Music Hits’, And I Think He Can Tell

CM Punk has a lot in common with Adam Cole; they’re renowned wrestlers who have starred all over the wrestling world, they both recently signed with AEW, and they both have beloved theme songs.

Punk’s “Cult of Personality” is a classic, but Cole’s new “All About Tha (BOOM!)” has quickly become one of the most popular songs in wrestling. It recently reached the top spot on the iTunes Metal Charts.

During an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Punk expressed his appreciation for Cole’s entrance music. He first described the energy he feels, both personally and generally speaking, when his own song hits, as it always produces a passionate roar from the crowd. “The Second City Saint” then explained that Cole’s theme also fires him up.

“Wrestling is different. You’re not supposed to be a ‘mark’ and you’re not supposed to take pictures with someone you share a locker room with. The culture is different in AEW. I get excited when Adam Cole’s music hits. I think he can see that on my face. There is an excitement in the locker room, and then I see the fans, and it’s amazing. Every new city I go to, these people haven’t seen me in seven years. It’s like Aug. 20 all over again for me.”

Punk continues to thrive in AEW; he’s undefeated since he returned to the ring, as he has defeated three promising stars in Darby Allin, Powerhouse Hobbs and Daniel Garcia. His next bout, a clash with veteran Matt Sydal, is right around the corner; the two former WWE stars will face off on the October 15 episode of AEW Rampage.
