Thanks to Andrew Pizak for sending in the following:
The show opened up with Colt Cabana vs. Davey Richards in a pure wrestling match. I recommend this PPV based solely on this opening match. Colt Cabana has so much charisma and a great ability to sell and tell a story in the ring. Too bad he looks so “non-threatening”. WWE gave him the walking papers because he didn’t look like a Superstar, but I tell you what, you put this guy in a ring and ask him to have a match and the guy can flat out entertain- that’s the name of the game right? Its Entertainment not Wrestling, right? Davey Richards is a mini Chris B****t, which is a compliment, to some people, at least…
Davey Richards wins via submission with a cross arm breaker.
Four corners survival match. Nothing to note except to say that Kyle O’Reilly looked good and Mike Bennett looks “WWE ready”. Also Grizzly Redwood wears Jeggings, how has there not been a chant about that?
Mike Bennett won a four corners survival match by pinning Steve Corino.
Next up was El Generico vs. Michael Elgin with Truth Martini. That guy has got to go. That guy being Truth Martini. He’s Bad, not in heat generating way, more of a get up and check the merchandise table, go pee, maybe get another drink, I don’t know, but I couldn’t sit there and watch him. El Generico won via roll up, Roderick Strong came to help beat down Generico, Homicide makes the save to set up…
ROH world title match
Roderick Strong pinned Homicide in a very good match, not great, but good.
We come back with the Tag Team Champion Kings of Wrestling vs the All Night Express. Very, Very Good Match. Claudio Castignoli is way Over for a Heel. He is truly “WWE Ready”. Sign him up Vince! Former Tough Enough contestant Kenny King is pretty damn athletic- reminded me of a smaller Shelton Benjamin.
Winner and STILL ROH Tag Team Champions – the Kings of Wrestling
Sara Del Rey beat MsChif… I think… I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention…
Eddie Edwards vs. Christopher Daniels 2 out of 3 with a 30 minute time limit ended in a 1-1 draw when the time ran out, there was a spot where both men went over the top rope, there was concern that someone may have gotten hurt for real I couldn’t quite see exactly what happened. The slow count started, Edwards hopped in at about the 5 or 6 then the bell rang for the time limit when the ref was at 9, Jim Cornett said “sorry folks, the 30 minutes stand, this guy is hurt” referring to Daniels.
Main Event was the DREAM TAG MATCH the Briscoes vs. WGTT… lived up to its hype, I thought these four men worked tremendously well together and put on a great match worthy of a main event. Benjamin and Hass won. Sorry I cant remember the exact finishes of these matches…
Notes: A Lot of fun! I recommend any fan of wrestling to go see ROH if it’s in your town. By Far, the best WRESTLING show ive ever seen in person. Independent Wrestling fans are nuts, wanna know how I know? Hass was WAY OVER.
