(Spoilers) More Detailed WWE SD! Taping Results For Friday

2. Maryse and Layla beat Eve and Beth Phoenix. Michelle got up from the announce position and distracted Beth Phoenix, who beat on Michelle’s foot on the apron, allowing Layla and Maryse to double team Eve for the win. They did it on the side of the ring opposite the cameras, so I expect the TV story will be that this is where Michelle got injured, but she clearly had a walking cast on her right foot.

3. The Miz defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. I immediately noted that some of WWE creative must read Prowrestling.net, as for the second night in a row, they gave The Miz a clean win over another champion, following his clean win over U.S. Champ Daniel Bryan on Raw. Maybe they figured they needed to prove The Miz could win without cheating (if you don’t count distractions as “cheating”), as he really hasn’t had a clean win prior to this week since he beat Orton for the title.

I was, however, disappointed that this was the only appearance for Alberto del Rio all night. No fancy car, no Rich Rod intro, no mic work. It was a shame too, cause Rich Rod got into quite a few altercations with the fans during NXT both on and off camera. Him jawing with the fans was more entertaining than anything on NXT. I’m pretty sure that Rich Rod/Alberto would have drawn major heat on TV with the large number of Mexican Americans in attendance.

4. Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defeated Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater by DQ to retain the WWE Tag Titles. After Big Show cleared the ring, he had a stare down with Ezekiel Jackson. Zeke was gonna get in and face show 1-1, but then the Corre stopped him and they left.

They set the ring up with red carpet and the World Hvt. Championship belt on a podium to do the ceremony. Vickie gave the belt to Dolph, who put it around his waist. When Teddy Long came out, he said he knew Vickie had the most to gain from his injury, and he wondered if during her investigation she looked in the mirror.
