(Spoilers) More Detailed WWE SD! Taping Results For Friday

When it looked like Teddy was going to punish Vickie, she sold Dolph out, and claimed it was all his idea, and that he was the one behind it. This is when Teddy said that Vickie had the power to fire people, but he had the power to rehire them, thus he rehired Edge and gave him a title match.

Teddy definitely acknowledged Dolph as the World Heavyweight Champion, and booked him in an immediate title defense versus the “rehired” challenger Edge. I paid very close attention to make sure, as it seemed odd that they would officially recognize Dolph as a first time champion in this manner, only to have him drop it minutes later. Edge would even reference that this was a new title reign, his 11th, in his post-match comments.

5. Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler to win the World Hvt. Championship. The match itself was only a couple minutes long at best, with Edge winning with a spear. The obvious thing that jumped into my mind when Teddy fired Dolph was that this opened the door for a surprise sixth entrant into the Smackdown title match at the Elimination Chamber PPV.

Undertaker, HHH, Sting… it just seems given the hype they got on the 2/21/11 videos, they might want to give more than just two days for online speculation and hype over who will replace Dolph on the PPV. That is assuming, of course, that Dolph’s “firing” even makes it on TV.

It’s unclear where the TV show will be cut off, but here is what transpired after the match ended. The ring was filled with confetti celebrating Edge’s title “win”, as Dolph left because he was fired. Edge remained in the ring celebrating. Vickie Guerrero got in the ring and said this wasn’t over, and demanded Dolph come back and get an immediate title rematch.
