Strikeforce Continues To Take Advantage of UFC’s Woes

An interesting article on The Heyman Hustle website tonight points out the fact Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has jumped on the opportunity created by UFC’s Heavyweight Division’s problems.

With UFC Champion Cain Velasquez getting shoulder surgery and top draw Brock Lesnar looking like he’s in no mood to fight, UFC President Dana White is left with a huge void in his heavyweight division, which Strikeforce is trying to fill.

Yesterday, Strikeforce announced the return of the legendary Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko, who will fight on February 12th at The Meadowlands’ Izod Center against Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva.

Now, Strikeforce continues with a followup for their 8-Man Heavyweight Tournament with the announcement that Alistair Overeem, the promotion’s World Heavyweight Champion, will oppose Fabricio Werdum.
