WWE SD! House Show Results (11/4): Belfast, Ireland

Thanks to Michael Storey for sending in the following:

I was at the Smackdown show in Belfast last night, here are some details if you’d like them.

1st Match – Finlay vs Tyler Reks – Good match with the home town crowd with Finlay all the way. Tyler had great heat and carried it well. Finlay got the win after help from Hornswoggle with a shillelagh.

2nd Match – Jack Swagger w/ bird vs Chris Masters – Surprisingly amount of love for the Masterpiece. Decent back and forth match with Masters hitting the Masterlock on the bird on the apron. Swagger got the win with the ankle lock.

3rd Match – Chavo Guerrero vs Mason Ryan – Short match, missed the end but  was told that Ryan got the victory after a sidewalk slam type move.

4th Match – IC Title – Dolph Ziggler vs ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes vs Drew Mcintyre vs MVP – Easily best match of the night. The crowd was hyping for MVP the whole match. Great interchanges between each wrestler with Cody and Drew teasing a turn on each other, great back and forth with win coming from Ziggler – Future shock on MVP (I think) and Ziggler pushing Mcintyre out of the ring for the pin.

MASSIVE SURPRISE – As Ziggler is celebrating NEXUS (David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Husky Harris and Michael McGillicutty) come into the ring and make an attack with MVP getting the worse of it. Otunga on the mic says that Barrett is visiting family and Nexus want to defend their Tag Team gold vs The Hart Dynasty. Excellently done by WWE I must say.

Segment – Kelly Kelly and Hornswoggle give out T shirts.

5th Match – Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio – Del Rio attacks Rey and hurts his leg with the corner before the match kicks off, Kofi Kingston makes the save. Rey is brought to the back where Kingston comes on the mic and says that Del Rio isn’t getting off that easy. Rey must be legitimately injured.

Kofi Kingston vs Alberto Del Rio – Decent match, good heat on Del Rio. Kingston is great fan favourite with the kids, especially with his hand slap taunt. Kinston gets the win after Rey distracts Del Rio through his legs, cue Trouble in Paradise.

6th Match – Tag Team Titles – Nexus – Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater vs The Hart Dynasty wo/ Natalia – Very impressed with Gabriel when he wasn’t in the match. Would make a great tag team with anyone if he was giving a proper chance. Good match again with Nexus getting the advantage with some quick tags. DH Smith getting the crowd pumped throughout. Nexus gets the win – Gabriel gets the pin on Kidd by roll up, DH Smith doesn’t really look happy about it, either its a turn (doubt) or he’s a good actor.

7th Match – Natalia vs Layla – Layla had a large bouncy ball with her and was doing some stupid tricks, dont know why??. Decent match. Natalia does a really good holding suplex early, worth a mention. She gets the win via sharpshooter.

Main Event – World Heaveyweight Championship – Kane vs Big Show – No Paul Bearer. Kane gets on the mic at the start saying hes superior to everyone in the ring, in the crowd and in Belfast in fact. Big Show gets on the mic and says that hes not superior to Undertaker and starts and unstoppable throughout the match Taker chant. Match was VERY disappointing. Very repetitive as the same chop block happened twice on Big Show. Show hits the Showtopper (Have they stopped calling it that) on Kane but he gets the ropes. Knock out punch hit and Nexus make the save for Kane. Big Show wins by DQ.

Nexus attacks Big Show and the heel locker room come to the ring and it looks like they are going to save Show. Nope. Attack on Big Show. Face locker room come down and make the save. While this is happening Kane is quietly leaving the Arena (Expect more from the champ). Hornswoggle chases the whole heel side out of the arena with a chair, great stuff.

Overall it was an entertaining show and it had a feel of a proper event, unlike the past where they just had matches and left.
