Yesterday, I posted an exclusive update on the status of the current Wilpon Group’s wrestling project, which you can check out if you CLICK HERE.
Earlier today, Kevin Kleinrock contacted WZ exclusively and sent in the following update in response to the report, concerning his involvement in the Wilpon project.
WZ: It is known that Gelman was involved in the venture, both dealing with Wilpon and also with Kevin Kleinrock, whose Worldwide Wrestling Personified company was being used as the corporate home for the promotion.
Kleinrock: In January, I opened a company called Worldwide Personified. It is a marketing, management, merchandising and consulting company. It deals far beyond the realm of wrestling, and the name wrestling is not in the title. It is referred to as WP for short.
Ironically, a number of months later, I was contacted by Sean Davis about his project WWP, Worldwide Wrestling Promotions, Inc.
Mike Johnson was able to find the legal filing for this company out of the state of Florida. I have nothing to do with the corporate side of Worldwide Wrestling Promotions, Inc.
I did agree to work with the company in an Executive Producer capacity and I did work to bring a number of talents to the company at their request, in my EP role. However, I am not an officer, owner, or anything beyond at this point a potential producer of their programming.
WZ: Kleinrock’s involvement is unknown to many, as he has kept a low profile since the reports started coming out.
Kleinrock: The "low profile" WZ claims I am now taking is funny because I have been out all week promoting my Viva La Lucha PPV series which debuted last Friday on PPV. I did the Monday Night Mayhem and Rubber Guard Radio shows last week and have been promoting the PPV at length. On top of that, I spent no less than 30 hours on the phone last week attempting to figure out, like many, where things stood and/or talking to the talent I brought on board and updating them to what I know.
WZ: …the original Pascoe-Karoftis-Kleinrock promotion…
Kleinrock: That was never the case, nor is it now. Pascoe and Karoftis are officers and owners of WWP. I was simply asked to produce their tapings.
