Thanks to JRL for sending this in:
The Mass Mutual Center is an averaged size arena. It was MAYBE 60% full, really poor attendance. The $15 seats were sold out, however.
Santino & Kozlov def. Vance Archer and Curt Hawkins. Usual comedy stuff from Santino. Crowd loved it. Kozlov got the hot tag and cleaned house, until Santino tagged himself in to give Hawkins the Cobra which he sold the hell out of for the win. Post match Del-Rio attacks Santino and Kozlov from behind, and cuts a short promo about it should be him facing Kane for the belt, and he deserves better opponents than Chavo.
Christian def. Tyler Reks – Tyler Reks had new theme music, and the guy is a beast as a heel! He looked really good, and I hope Smackdown starts using him. He basically beat on Christian the entire match then Christian hit the killswitch out of nowhere for the win. Really solid.
The Bellas def. Lay-Cool – One of the Bellas got a small package out of nowhere. Actually pretty decent womans match.
The Great Khali def. The Dudebusters in a 2-on-1 handicap match. The crowd was actually way into this one. I feel like the Dudebusters would be a great face team, they have so much energy and really sold their asses off.
After intermission it was:
CM Punk def. MVP – CM Punk started with a promo saying how he was the greatest man that ever lived. His heel mic work is gold, and he drew so much heat, it was amazing. This was Match of the Night for sure, great back and forth stuff. It’s too bad they MVP isn’t pushed anymore. Punk wins with the GTS, and MVP gets a standing ovation from the crowd before he leaves. Long and awesome match.
Alberto Del Rio def. Chavo by submission. Another awesome match. Chavo was way over as a face. I legit thought Chavo was gonna get the upset when he hit the frogsplash, but Del Rio grabbed the rope before the 3. Shortly after, Del Rio got Chavo in his arm-submission. Really solid.
Kane def. Big Show in a cage match. Show was way over, this match was exactly what you would expect it to be.
Overall, it was a good show. I love house shows because you don’t get a bunch of pointless 3 minute matches and the same 15-20 minute promos. Instead these guys get to really show what they can do.
