WWE Beats Out NFL, MLB & Others In Facebook Fan-Count

Sergio Non wrote a report today on his USA Today blog regarding statistics for sports brands’ online social networking, which included World Wrestling Entertainment. The article focused on Facebook followers for top sports brands.

The article notes that the NBA has far and away the most Facebook followers, with nearly 3.2 million followers. Coming in second was UFC with roughly 2.3 million followers.

Trailing those two mega-franchises, as well as the Vancouver 2010 Olympics (1.2 million followers), WWE came in fourth on the list with 757,845 Facebook fans. This puts WWE ahead of such top sports brands as the NFL, MLB, NHL and NASCAR, just to name a few.
