WWE House Show Results (7/9): Peoria, Illinois

The following report is from F4WOnline.com:

Mark Henry d. Zack Ryder with the "World’s Strongest Slam".

The Great Khali d. William Regal with the big chop in the worst Regal match ever.

Cutting Edge segment: Edge comes out and says that he is facing Evan Bourne later but that was of little concern to him, so he was going to host a special edition of "The Cutting Edge" with Sheamus. Sheamus comes out and says that he is going to defeat Cena tonight in the main event. Then the general manager noise plays over the speakers. One of the Bella twins walks to the ring with a cell phone and Justin Roberts reads a message from the anonymous gm saying that tonight’s main event of Sheamus vs Cena is now going to be a handicap match. Sheamus is pissed.

Alicia Fox d. Eve Torres after doing the injured knee spot to retain Divas Title. Special guest ref for this match was Santino Marella.

Edge d. Evan Bourne in an amazing match. Probably went fifteen to twenty minutes and had the crowd the whole time. They built the match around the shooting star press which Bourne never hit until after the match. Finish saw Bourne on top going for the shooting star until Edge popped up and swept Bourne’s feet out from under him. Bourne did a crazy bump on the finish. Ppv quality match.

Justin Roberts is out plugging merchandise. He plugged a Cena "freshly signed" 8×10 for $20, a Raw World Tour shirt featuring all the superstars for $25, and a commemorative cup for $6.50. (He didn’t say the prices while plugging the stuff)

The Bella’s are out with the t-shirt cannon, then a 15 Minute Intermission.

The Hart Dynasty w/ Natalya d. The Uso’s w/ Tamina after the springboard Hart Attack.

Good match. Uso’s don’t do anything that makes them stand out. No tandem moves or anything. Weird that DH Smith played the babyface in peril for this match, eventually making the hot tag to the much smaller Tyson Kid. Sort of ass backwards.

The Miz d. John Morrison and Ted Dibiase in a triple threat to retain the US Championship when Miz pinned Morrision.

Cena and Sheamus came to the ring for the main event and the GM sound went off. Justin Roberts informed Cena that the lumberjacks for this match would now be the Nexus.

Sheamus and John Cena went to a no contest when Nexus jumped Cena in the ring. Sheamus powdered to the back and they continued to beat on Cena. Eventually the Raw guys (Bourne, Santino, Henry, Morrison, and the Hart Dynasty) made the save. Eventually, Cena got Wade Barrett alone and gave him the Attitude Adjustment to end the show.

Some notes:

B+ show overall. This was a makeup for the February 14th show they cancelled.

There was a smattering of people in the upper deck, but it was mostly empty. Lower bowl and floor was full.

The sound system was terrible and they even use wired microphones, which looked very weird. You could barely hear the music and couldn’t understand the promos at all.

The entrance was only one metal truss with no lights on it. It looked pretty low rent.

Typical wrestling crowd. Very few 18-35 year old males though. Mostly kids and their parents. Quite a few 8-14 year old shrieking girls. Normal big ethnicity mix for a Peoria show. Crowd was 98% pro babyfaces.

Interesting merchandise notes:

They only had a full merch table in the main concourse of the building. In the rest were just small pathetic tables with only foam fingers, programs, Mysterio masks, and Cena sweatbands. Seemed like a missed opportunity there.

At the main merch table for shirts they had:

$25- Cena, Edge, Orton, Sheamus, Hart Dynasty

$15- Santino, Wrestlemania

Also had action figures, necklaces, Cena sweatbands, Cena foam fingers, Mysterio masks ($60), Foam and high end ($325) replica WWE Championship belts.

Cena stuff was everywhere. They also sold out of the Hart Dynasty shirt at the end of the night.
