TNA Impact Results (7/8) – Anderson/Hardy, RVD/Joe

Non-Title Match

Samoa Joe vs TNA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Van Dam

Joe and RVD trade punches in the middle of the ring and RVD drills Joe in the head with a spinning kick. RVD goes up top and Joe tries for a Muscle Buster but he can’t get RVD up, so he shoves him outside and he hits the side of the stage instead. Joe hits a suicide dive on RVD then rolls RVD back in the ring and gets a two count. Joe tries kicking RVD in the chest but he misses, and RVD hits a dropkick then some shoulder thrusts in the corner, and follows it with a low dropkick. RVD and Joe trade punches again and then Joe hits a powerslam and locks in a rear crossface in the middle of the ring. RVD tries to break the hold and elbows his way out and tries running the ropes and Joe puts him right back down with a lariat. RVD comes back and kicks Joe in the head, then hits Rolling Thunder for a near fall. RVD goes off the top rope and hits a thrust kick, and Joe follows it with a desperation clothesline and both guys are down on the mat.

As they struggle to get up, RVD goes for a monkey flip, but Joe hits a uranage slam and powerbomb for a two count. Joe puts him in a single leg crab until RVD gets to the ropes and Joe headbutts him a few times. RVD tries a victory rollthrough off the ropes, but Joe pulls him down and tries to get him in the Kokina Clutch. RVD does his best to fight out but Joe continues to lock in the hold, and when RVD gets near the turnbuckle he runs up it and tries to flip out of it. Joe still has him in the hold but RVD gets Joe’s shoulders down as he bridges himself up and RVD gets the three count.

Joe looks shocked and he and RVD lock eyes for a moment before RVD leaves, and Joe argues with the referee and asks what happened. Joe slaps the ref in the face and hits the Muscle Buster, then rolls out of the ring to some boos.

Winner – Rob Van Dam

Earlier today Kurt Angle did an interview about why he is starting at the bottom of the Top 10 List. He says he likes the pressure and it makes him a better wrestler. He says it makes him a better athlete and it keeps him on his toes. He finishes by saying he has been in the ring with Ken Anderson, and he has seen the look in his eyes. Angle says if he was Jeff Hardy, he would be careful.
