WWE House Show Results (6/11): Charleston, West Virginia

WWE Raw house show
Charleston, W. Va. at the Charleston Civic Center
Report by Tim Delong, Jerry Tucker and www.ProWrestling.net

1. R-Truth beat The Miz to retain the U.S. Title.

2. The Great Khali beat William Regal. Regal kept running away. "Too short and not much action," according to Jerry, who said this was the worst match of the night.

3. Dos Caras over Goldust.

4. Yoshi Tatsu beat Zack Ryder.

5. Mark Henry beat Ted DiBiase.

6. Santino Marella beat Maryse and Koslov in a three-way dance-off.

7. Edge pinned Evan Bourne. Jerry writes that this was the best match of the night and was "very unpredictable and fast."

8. John Cena defeated Sheamus to retain the WWE Championship.

Notes from Tim: Me and one of my friends made it over to the Civic Center by 3:50 to get autographs and pictures. Santino, Koslov, and Charles Robinson was already there. We saw Dustin Runnels (Goldust), Yoshi Tatsu (got his autograph), The Miz and Maryse arrived together.

We also saw the trainer Chris Brennan, Mark Henry, Dos Caras, The Great Khali, Evan Bourne (got his autograph and a picture with him), John Cena (he had his own bus), Mike Rotundo (I yelled "I pay my taxes" but he just kept on walking), Savannah, Ted Dibiase Jr, Sheamus, R-Truth, and William Regal and his son. Cena had the biggest reaction of all the arrivals and Evan Bourne came back outside to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans.

The crowd was hot all night. The event was not sold out. The upper level was mostly empty with some people in the level. The merchandise stand was really busy, as always. I got a WM 26 Jersey and a WM26/Hall of Fame program, a live event tour t-shirt, and a Randy Orton t-shirt for a friend of mine.

Khali is a big guy in person and it appeared Goldust lost a couple of teeth or just his chewing gum after a shot by Dos Caras.

Ted DiBiase Jr. issued a Money Making Challenge, just like his dad used to. Mark Henry’s music interrupted him and out came Henry. The match soon followed the confrontation. DiBiase did some great heel stalling by rolling out of the ring several times during the match. Henry gave one autograph on his way to the back.

The 3-way dance-off was purely comedy. Apparently Eve had travel problems (according to Maryse), that is why there was no Diva’s Title match.

Edge vs. Evan Bourne, and John Cena vs. Sheamus were great.

R-Truth, Khali, Goldust, Yoshi, Henry, Santino, Edge (during his entrance), and Evan Bourne got good reactions during their respective entrances. By far, though, John Cena got the best pop of the night. Koslov got some cheers during his entrance.

The Miz, Dos Caras, William Regal, and Sheamus got great heat. Zack Ryder got decent heat, Ted Jr got good heat, the same for Maryse. Koslov got some boos and Savannah got some boos for not knowing "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver. Cena sang the song after the main event.

Overall it was a good and quick show. It was over shortly after 9:30.
