FCW Live Event Results (5/27): Possible NXT Season 2 Spoiler

Match 8: Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins defeated “Los Amadors” Hunico & Dos Equis when Archer pinned Dos Equis

Match 9: FCW Championship Match – Alex Riley pinned Heath Slater

Notes About The Show:

Gorgeous FCW Diva and ring announcer Jamie Keyes sported a completely different appearance that had many in the FCW Arena asking who the new girl is.

Matt Martlaro & Abraham Washington were acting as the TV announcers for this live event.

The camera crew for NXT filmed the entire show for vignette footage for NXT’s second season.

Duke Rotundo changed his look as well, trading in his long blonde hair for short brown hair much like his dad (Mike “IRS” Rotundo). Johnny Curtis also sported a new, short hairstyle and was dressed in a red flannel shirt and jeans… Not a look the FCW Universe is used to seeing for the proud Bostonian, but sure seemed welcome Curtis’s new in ring babyface attitude.

We may have a possible spoiler of a rookie/pro pairing for NXT season 2. When Shad Gaspard attacked Eli Cottonwood, he repeatedly screamed at Cottonwood “That’s how it’s done! That’s how it’s done!”, as if it was a mentor teaching his protégé how to do things in a forceful way. It appears to me that 7 foot plus Eli Cottonwood will be a rookie in NXT with Shad Gaspard as his pro.

FCW & WWE referee Justin King was in attendance and finally off crutches, though limping a bit. I hope to see King back in the real soon. King suffered a multiple fracture of his left leg in freak non-wrestling accident several months ago.

Roster talent noticeably absent from the show include Aksana, Derrick Bateman, Jacob Novak, David Otunga, Mason Ryan, Michael Tarver, Savannah, Skip Sheffield, Tyler Reks, and Wade Barrett

Brett DiBiase, Bo Rotundo, Cable Jones, Kaval, Richie Steamboat, and Jackson Andrews are still on the shelf with injuries, and Alberto Banderas continues to get rave reviews for his WWE Live Event work as Dos Caras, and I assume he will show up on WWE TV soon with all of the injury trouble that has been plaguing the main roster.

The latest issue of FCW magazine, with FCW Champion Alex Riley on the cover, was released this week and is available at all FCW Events as well as FCWWrestling.com
