Dragon Gate USA and Dragon Gate are pleased to present one of the most unique opportunities ever offered to the North American independent wrestling scene with the Dragon Gate Scout Caravan. This consists of tryouts and seminars. The Caravan is coming to Toronto on May 8th, Philadelphia on July 24th and Chicago on September 25th. The times will be announced in the near future, but it will be around noon on each day.
The tryouts and seminars are open to all wrestlers that have completed any pro wrestling training course. This is not for people that have never stepped foot in the ring before.
"We are flooded everyday with emails from wrestlers hoping to tour Japan and work for Dragon Gate USA," DGUSA President Satoshi Oji said. "Now we not only have an organized way for these individuals to tryout, but we have expanded it into a learning opportunity. The Dragon Gate Scout Caravan is here"
The tryouts will consist of an opportunity to get into the ring before a DGUSA event in front of Dragon Gate officials and wrestlers including CIMA and the Dragon Gate office staff. Tryout wrestlers will be given the chance to perform in front of this select audience. This could lead to a spot in Dragon Gate USA, one of its partner promotions and even a chance to train and tour in Japan. Not only that, but some tryout wrestlers could even receive an immediate shot on the Bonus Card or main show that night. This will be the best way to be seen and noticed. This will also allow all the applicants to get their foot in the door, meet the top players face-to-face and observe how things are done behind-the-scenes. Most importantly, you will receive immediate feedback and tips for improvement.
"I have a stack of DVDs sitting in my office," DGUSA VP Gabe Sapolsky said. "I have tons of Youtube and other links to matches in my inbox. Most of these consist of old or poor quality footage. It would take me weeks to get through all this footage. It is just too difficult to watch and even harder for the talent to get noticed this way. There is just too much of a glut. This new tryout system will be the best way to be seen, noticed and make an impression. Most importantly, it will be the best way to get instant feedback and advice."
For those interested in making this into a total learning experience, Dragon Gate USA is pleased to offer the first seminar taught by Dragon Gate wrestlers. This is the first time that the techniques and theories of the Dragon Gate system will be taught in North America. Trainers for this seminar will include CIMA, YAMATO, Shingo, Masato Yoshino, Naruki Doi and possible guests.
The seminar will consist of pro wrestling related stretches and exercises. From there you will learn the basics of the Dragon Gate style of wrestling and Mexican techniques. You will be given immediate feedback, advice and an education to this exciting style of wrestling. This experience will look good on any wrestler’s resume.
Those that impress and show potential will be given more opportunities with Dragon Gate in Japan, Dragon Gate USA and its partner promotions. You might even end up on the DGUSA card that night. This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to get immediately noticed, improve your skills and just learn the pro wrestling craft from a totally new and different perspective.
There is limited space available for both the tryouts and seminar.
The registration fee for a tryout is $49.
The registration fee for the seminar is $149. This includes the tryout registration fee.
