Former WWE Employee On Michael Cole/Internet Feud, Batista

The most "critically-acclaimed" segment in the world of wrestling radio is back! Former WWE Head Of Security, Jimmy Noonan, returned to the Monday Night Mayhem Radio Network for his uncensored thoughts on the new "enemy of the Internet," Michael Cole. The voice of WWE’s Monday Night RAW has made some recent statements throughout the past week about Internet fans (dating to last Tuesday night’s debut of WWE NXT) & their validity during the debut match of Daniel Bryan ("The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson) vs. Chris Jericho. Jimmy worked with Cole when Noonan was in World Wrestling Entertainment, and he was asked about the touchy subject of Cole vs. the Internet Wrestling Community. "I got something to say about this. Nothing would please me more than coming on your show tonight and trashing Michael Cole, and therefore trashing WWE & that ECW replacement NXT. However, Michael Cole is a serious journalist. He worked for CBS, he covered three presidential campaigns, he covered the siege in Waco, TX & the war in Yugoslavia, and here he is at the WWE 13 years later. To say he is not a serious journalist is like saying my sister (Peggy Noonan), who authored some of Ronald Regan’s greatest speeches and is now a revered political pundit, is not a serious journalist. And so on NXT, Cole shoots on Internet ‘smarks.’ He shot on them last week and somehow I have become one of them, I am a Internet ‘smark.’ In a way, I’ve become what I didn’t want, I’ve become the enemy. Nobody hates the ‘dirt sheets’ than a wrestler. Some of them have a ‘love-hate’ relationship with it, they love seeing their name, but they hate the info that comes out. And yet the Internet is the enemy of the WWE because so much of it is innuendo; it’s bad reporting. It’s second-guessing, it’s second-hand information, and sometimes, it’s flat out lies that come on the Internet.

Noonan continued by adding: "One of the top wrestlers called me months ago and said to me ‘Noonan, do a show in the Internet creeps that are ruining the business.’ That is the general feeling amongst the WWE in general & wrestlers in particular…that the ‘dirt sheets’ are ruining wrestling. And for reasons that are too time consuming for the show, they have a point. On the other hand, is Perez Hilton & other people like him ruining Hollywood? I think not so guys what’s the answer here? The answer is better reporting by real journalists on the wrestling business. Maybe the answer is more Meltzer & maybe more of the Noonans of the world and less of the haters that want to injury wrestling and won’t be happy until they kill the business altogether. I have spoken."
