Pyro goes off and we are onto Smackdown. Punk comes out to a great reaction. I love heel preachy CM Punk. He really is starting to get up to par with his amazing indy promos. Highlight of my night is starting an "Alcohol" chant directed towards him, which actually made it on the titontron. Though it’s a PG show, I really do hope the audio makes the air! He had an ok match with Hardy. Nothing like Punk had with his brother, but entertaining none the less.
Kane’s pyro is loud and hot enought to induce heart attacks. Really, it looks cool on tv, but being there live and close, and feels like a damn bomb going off. Had an ok match with Ziggler that probably wont come across well on tv, considering the crowd was pretty dead. Nice to see Ziggler dominate Kane after the match. The kids got something and its too bad his original push stalled out.
Some dork with a lisp is in the ring with a Carolina jersey on as the Carolina Panther. Whatever makes the kids happy I guess. Khali comes out to a pretty big reaction. I know its always said, but the guy is a freaking giant. People that large should be studied. Quick squash, served its purpose. Short, side show matches with Khali are much more entertaining then long, championship matches with the man. Play to his strengths, let him be funny and destory nobodys. He is entertaining enough doing just that. Watching a 7’6 indian guy with bad knees dance terribly is funny even to the most jaded smark.
Morrison comes out to another huge reaction. The guy is a damn rockstar. He carried McIntyre to a decent match, which actually had a moonsault off the barricade which was botched, but Morrison just jumped up and tried it again, landing it beautifly.
