WWE RAW Opener: Batista & Randy Orton

We open with highlights of the Randy Orton-John Cena match at Breaking Point. Live in the arena, Lilian Garcia introduces us to "The Animal" Batista. He comes out in his big arm brace and makes his way to the ring. As he makes his way to the ring, a video airs showing the Legacy attack on Batista that injured his arm. Batista says before he makes his announcement he wants to take the opportunity to say thank you to all of the fans. He talks about it being a rough year with some bad injuries. He says this is how he wanted to come back but unfortunately he’s come back to say goodbye. He says there’s been rumors for a long time now with a lot of people talking about his retirement. Randy Orton’s music hits to interupt him. Orton starts by saying he’s not very happy about losing the WWE championship last night. He says it does make him feel good to know that Batista is retiring. He tells him to save his little speech because nobody cares. Orton tells him to admit that he’s not retiring because of his health, he’s retiring because he’s afraid of Orton. He reminds him of the skull-punt and arm injuries. He tells Batista to hang his head and cry like he was about to do before he came out here. Batista smiles. Orton asks him if he thinks it’s funny that he ruined his life and career. He asks what’s so funny. Batista says there’s two things that are funny to him right now. One – Orton is very predictable. Two – he removes his arm brace and says "I know something you don’t know" followed by a big clothesline. He beats Orton until Orton runs away. Batista gets on the mic and says he’s not retiring he’s going to SmackDown! He said he spoke to Trish Stratus earlier and he has one more match on RAW, which will be tonight. It will be a No Holds Barred match against Randy Orton in the main event.

-Cole and Lawler spazz out about the previous announcement. They promote HBK vs. DiBiase for later as we head to a commercial.

Trish Stratus Makes Some Announcements

We return and Lilian Garcia introduces RAW Diva of the Decade, 7-time Women’s champion and tonight’s guest-host — Toronto’s own Trish Stratus. Quite the build-up! Trish comes out with brown hair to a lackluster reception. Trish starts by saying "hello Toronto." She talks about how it’s good to be home and when she says that she also means the WWE home. She doesn’t want to toot her own horn but she thinks she’ll make a pretty good host. Batista vs. Orton – pretty good, huh? She said she thought Bob Barker did a pretty good job last week, don’t we agree? She said her favorite part was when he made Chris Jericho almost cry. She says this is not The Price Is Right – this is RAW. She says she knows RAW. This whole thing was her world for 7 years and she knows RAW. She thinks she knows what we want actually. She says at the next PPV it will be Randy Orton vs. John Cena in a rematch in a Hell In A Cell. She says enough of her for now, we’ll see her plenty tonight. She says let’s get a match going. Kofi Kingston’s music hits.
