As previously reported the 8-20-09 airing of TNA iMPACT on Spike TV earned a 1.2 reaching 1.6 million viewers
Quarter hour breakdown was:
Again TNA started the show with an in ring talking segment, this time with Matt Morgan and the Main Event Mafia and once again the rating fropped off for the second quarter hour, which continues to suggest fans are leaving during the 1st quarter hour talk segment. A similar drop happened several weeks ago after the Bobby Lashley & Mick Foley with the MEM opening talk segment. Fortunately the show came back in the 3rd quarer hour and grew to reach it’s highest ratings in the last two segments, the promoted "announcement" by AJ Styles and the tag team Main Event.
TNA needs to rethink opening shows with in ring segments, particularly long segments with no action.
