More Information On Damien Steele’s Recent Passing

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Damien Steele (Dothard), who wrestled for my NWA Wildside several times as Damien Dynamite.  He was a regular in Columbus, GA (Phenix City, AL) based GCW where he was Junior Champion, Tag Champion, and 2 time TV Champion.

Steele was signed to a WWE development contract and was assigned to Deep South Wrestling in late 2005, where he ended up teaming with Ray Gordy as Ebony & Ivory.  It was during this time Gordy 1st used the Ray Geezy character he is now using in WWE.

Ebony & Ivory had one Smackdown match against Kid Kash & Jamie Noble on September 2. 2006.

What I’ve been told is that Damien had be feeling poorly for several weeks and had lost weight, and thought he might have the flu and went to the doctor several days prior to be found dead at hisGeorgia home.  When he was found later in the week,  police were called and some of Damien’s personal property was taken from his house by them.  An autopsy is scheduled to be performed.

This is not Tim Fischer, who worked in California (UPW, XPW, WXW), Puerto Rico (IWA & WWC) “Real Deal” Damien Steele who looked like Randy the Ram, nor the Damien Steele who wrestled for NCW/NWA Wildside in the late 1990s.
