Former WWWF Star Waldo Von Erich Dead at Age 75

Nick Paglino

waldo von erichSlam! Wrestling is reporting that Waldo Von Erich (pictured at right), the tag team partner of Fritz Von Erich, died last night at the age of 75 in Kitchener, Ontario.

Von Erich’s name was actually Walter Sieber, and although he was billed as Fritz’ brother he was not actually related to the famous Von Erich wrestling family. Fritz and Sieber met while working for Stampede Wrestling when it was owned and operated by Stu Hart and eventually went on to work with WWWF and even challenged Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Championship.

Waldo Von Erich trained young wrestlers later in his life, including TNA’s Eric Young.
