After the break we heard a prank call the guys made to a woman using some Mr. T audio clips. Fred also played Blind Faith’s ”Can’t Find My Way Back Home” as they were coming back.
Howard said that was one of the best songs that Clapton ever wrote. He had Jesse Ventura come in after that. Howard said he’s in to promote his book (Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me!) that’s out in paperback now.
Howard asked Jesse about what kind of music he’s into. Jesse said he’s into classic rock and the Rolling Stones. They spent a short time talking about his class and what their motto was supposed to be but the school didn’t allow it. Jesse said he remembers it being ”Lovers of Sex, Drinkers of Wine, That’s the Class of 69.”
Howard talked to Jesse about the war going on back when he was at the age when he could be drafted. Jesse said he actually volunteered to go in. Howard said he could have been a draft dodger. Jesse said his parents didn’t want him going into the service but they didn’t want them running away either.
Jesse said he and his father would fight over the Viet Nam war when he’d come home. He said his father was right and he was wrong and he was able to come home and tell his dad that he was right all along.
Howard said his mother sat him down and said that if the war was going on she wanted him to go to Canada and get out of there. Howard said his mother didn’t want him ending his life in a blood bath. Howard said he never got to consider it. He said he was in the lottery but by the time his number was called things were winding down.
Jesse said Howard may have been too tall back then. Howard said he’s 6’5” and that’s not too tall. Jesse said 6’7” is too tall. Howard said he would lose in hand to hand combat because he’s too big. Jesse said he’s 6’3” now but he used to be 2 inches taller. He said he’s been shrinking like everyone does.
Howard said he’d be humiliated if he had to fight in hand to hand combat. Jesse mentioned that he had been water boarded at one point and it is torture. Howard said they were just talking about that earlier. Howard asked Jesse what he would do if his daughter was kidnapped and they found a guy who had something to do with it. Howard asked if he would torture him. Jesse said he probably would. Jesse said that anything they say under torture isn’t going to be trusted because they will say anything to get out of being tortured.
