AT RANDOM: Chris Cash Reviews Last Night’s Raw

– And Brother Ray thinks TNA is the only company with "new and fresh" tag teams.  Pft.  WWE had Goldust and THE Brian Kendrick.

– Oh.  I guess they don’t.  Sorry Ray, you were right.

– Miz better stop rapping – he’ll actually start getting over if he’s not careful.  I haven’t been that high on Miz since debuting on Raw, but that was a good promo/rap.

– Cena won’t give Miz the time of day when he calls him out week after week, which is very unlike the character the WWE has tried to create for him, so Jerry Lawler takes time out to explain the logistics of wins and losses?  I guess it’s good they’re not burying him…yet.

– Hey, it’s Jim Ross!  Cool.  Can he do both play-by-play AND commentary, please?

– Speaking of, did he just say "Metatarcal"?  That’s the foot, silly.

– A clean victory by MVP against the guy I’m not allowed to name by name?  Not sure what that helps really, but this week I guess is about setting up the Main Events – which ironically, happens to be the same two Main Events as Judgment Day.  No sense, whatsoever.

– I like how Flair subtly set himself up for returning to in-ring action during his promo.  It’s clear he needs the money and wants to wrestle again.  Now, it’s just a matter of time.

– Congratulations William.  You go from MVP to Santina.  I just wish Regal would have stripped Santino of the wig and allowed us to be done with that.  It’s run its course by now.

– So Batista will look sluggish and slow during his first pay per view back from injury, not to mention a Championship match, but he’ll work hard in a handicap tag match on Raw?

– Not a bad Main Event and although it is way too soon, it was nice to see Flair back on television.

Chris Cash’s Actual Serious Final Thought:

I don’t think Raw accomplished much tonight outside of announcing the same two matches from last pay per view as the Main Events for "Extreme Rules" and the return of Flair, who I have mixed feelings about seeing on my tv.  Who else really received direction?  William Regal, I guess, who now has a feud with Santina or something.  I haven’t looked much at fan response thus far from the show last night, but I’m pretty sure it will be a resounding thumbs down in terms of…well, pretty much everything.

The WWE is in a tough situation right now trying to make the slow transition of building new stars after the draft.  I give them credit for giving us new faces, but I think it’s too much, too soon.  We need more time to adjust and I think eventually we will.  However, my only question is whether Vince is going to allow us the time.  I doubt last night’s efforts did much for the declining ratings that plague the WWE and soon, in typical Vince fashion, he’ll resort back to what he’s known for: shock and awe.

That may not be good for the WWE, but WrestleZone.com loves it when he does that!
