Kentucky Show Wrongly Leads To Athletic Commission Concerns

On 3-7-09 Mountain Wrestling Association out of Lexington, KY, Owner Chris Corman (License No. 4093). , promoted a show using talent provided by NWA Main Event’s Mike Porter.   Some of the reports suggesyted that the show was a Main Event show rather than a Mountain Wrestling Association show which causaed the Kentucky Athletic Commission to get concerned.

It appears on of my NWA News & Notes weekly releases had results from this show, and incorrectly noted the show as NWA Main Event.  Those reports are posted here and other places on the internet.  That release is pasted below.

Mike Porter wrote the following when I ask him to clarify this confusion for me.

NWA Main Event was involved with a wrestling show in Princeton, Ky. on March 7, 2009. It has been reported incorrectly that NWA Main Event promoted this show. Chris Corman was the promoter of record. He is a licensed promoter in Kentucky.  NWA Main Event did furnish talent for this show including Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee. Mr. Corman made sure that every wrestler and referee was properly licensed with the Kentucky Athletic Commission. He also paid the proper Athletic Tax to the Commission.

Mike Porter and NWA Main Event regrets the confusion and especially with the Kentucky Athletic Commission.
