The air is brisk, you’ve been out all night. Can’t go home yet the perfume from the blonde is still too strong. There is a smudge of lipstick on your collar. Gotta go someplace and clean up before you go home. Your walking through an alley you hear a sound behind you. You are being followed! The asphalt glistens with a managerie of color from neon signs reading Nude Women and XXX. Somehow youve ended up on the wrong side of town. The stranger following you is gaining ground. You turn to the right as you step out onto the main street. You see a safe place! "Modest’s Joint"! You quickly step into the Joint, turn and look out the window to see if you are still being followed. No one is there. You turnback towards the bar and see a bald man with a stern face and kind eyes. He tells you "sit down or get to robbing the joint." You take the first option and sit down. The man introduces himself as Michael Modest. "Ive never seen you here before he says, but you look like a whiskey man." He pours you a double on the rocks. " Glad you stopped by Modest’s Joint!
