John Cena was on Saturday Night Live on March 14th. Oh, you didn’t know? It would appear that no one in the studio audience did either. During the cold open, host Tracey Morgan was fantasizing about having to confront security at the 30 Rockefeller Center building in order to reach the SNL studio. The last security goon was John Cena, dressed in a suit and guarding the office door of Lorne Michaels. When Cena’s face was shown in the taped segment, a lone voice in the audience launched a brief "whoop." Otherwise, there was silence.
During the goodbyes, Morgan thanked seemingly everyone in New York – except John Cena.
Overall, an opportunity for great exposure for a WWE superstar was, it would appear, ignored. Unless the appearance is mentioned on tonight’s Raw, or Morgan forgot to mention Cena’s name at the end, there seems to be no valid reason for having Cena on the show. You can watch a clip of Morgan’s opening, featuring John Cena, at this link.
