Shane Douglas worked his first match in over five years this past Friday night in Roselle, New Jersey, working heel and pinning Little Guido (Nunzio) and then turned himself babyface with a promo after the match.
Douglas claimed he regretted the infamous throwing-down-of-the-NWA-title scene from 15 years ago (documented in "The Rise & Fall of ECW" DVD).
This prompted Danny Inferno, Don Montoya and Dave Greco to hit the ring. The guys told Douglas he had ruined their careers because when he threw down the belt, he killed the NWA (completely untrue) and as a result – hurt their careers. Douglas apologized but Inferno decked him anyways. He said after the shot that it was for Dennis Coraluzzo, and the three were doing a number on Douglas until Danny Doring and Guido made the save.
That angle set up a six-man tag match on June 5th between former ECW wrestlers and the Coraluzzo wrestlers.
