NEWS and NOTES

Tonight’s edition ofthe NoseBleed Section, with hosts John ‘Stoney’ Cannon and Joe ‘Joco’ Cowart, presents a tongue-in-cheek look at the world of pro wrestling. The broadcast starts at 9:00 PM ET, and is brought to you by Georgia Wrestling History’s GWH Radio Network.

Wednesday’s edition ofPeach State Pandemonium, hosted by Rich Tate, along with Dan Masters filling in as co-host for the vacationing Les Thatcher, were joined by Karl Lauer of the Cauliflower Alley Club, as well as Jody Hamilton, making his debut in the Wayback Machine. World Wrestling Entertainment’s SmackDown/ECW crew will be at the Roberts Municipal Auditorium in Evansville, IN, on May 11. Tickets go on sale March 28.

The final overall rating for the Tuesday edition of WWE’s ECW was 1.3.

The lineup for tonight’s iMPACT broadcast on Spike TV, fromTotal Nonstop Action, is as follows: Kurt Angle calls out Jeff Jarrett; a six-man elimination tag team match featuring Matt Morgan & Beer Money versus Abyss & Team 3D; Madison Rayne versus Taylor Wilde, with Traci Brooks as referee; a confrontation involving Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Booker T, and Scott Steiner; Steiner, Booker & the Motor City Machine Guns versus Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed & the Latin American Xchange; and Eric Young versus Rocco (bodyguard for the Main Event Mafia).

Tickets for the following TNA events go on sale Friday: April 24, at the Phantasy Theater in Cleveland, OH; April 25, at the Eastwood Expo Center in Youngstown, OH; and April 26, at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, OH.

TNA has cancelled their event that was to take place in San Juan, PR, on March 20 due to low ticket sales.

Ring of Honor has added the following matches to their March 21 event in New York, NY: a six-man elimination match with Jimmy Jacobs & two partners versus Tyler Black & two partners; and Bobby Dempsey versus a mystery opponent, with Larry Sweeney.

ROH has also announced the following talent will be at the April 9-10 tapings in Philadelphia, PA: Kevin Steen, El Generico, Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Larry Sweeney, MsChif, Tyler Black, and the Dark City Fight Club.

Great Championship Wrestling returns to Phenix City, AL, at the Gr8 Sk8 Plex tonight with “Trinity Explosion”. The advertised main event is a GCW Tag Team Title Match, Champions Hot Like Lava (Cru Jones & Shaun Banks, with Quentin Michaels) vs. Merchants of Death (Orion Bishop & Murder One, with Wicked Nemesis); Contender’s Match, J-Rod vs. Sal Rinauro; Frankie Valentine vs. Kyle Matthews; Bobby Moore vs. Tex Monroe; plus Rob Adonis, and the return of Bobby Sanford as one half of the Midnight Studs (ICW Florida Tag Team Champions) along with J.T. Flash. Tickets are $10 ringside and $8 general admission. For reserved seating, call 334-664-1780.

The program for this card reported that the Assassins had filed a protest with the NWA, asking to be allowed to return to matching masks and tights. They stated it hampered their image they had worked so hard to hone. Jim Wilson participated in an autograph session for fans.
