NEWS and NOTES

Tonight’s edition of Peach State Pandemonium, with hosts Rich Tate and Les Thatcher, presents opinion-based commentary on top stories across the world of pro wrestling and will be joined by Dick Steinborn. The show begins at 9:00 PM ET, and is brought to you by Georgia Wrestling History’s GWH Radio Network.

Tuesday’s edition of Dan Masters Live featured Francisco Ciatso, Tribal, and Larry Goodman. The Wrestling Granny, a regular caller to the NoseBleed Section, also made an appearance. The show is a presentation of the GWHRN. Click here for the archive.

Total Nonstop Action has announced an event at the Warren Harang Center in Thibodaux, LA, on April 3.

Ring of Honor has announced some updates to several upcoming events. Added to the February 27 card in Danbury, CT, is a match featuring Kevin Steen & Jay Briscoe versus Chris Hero & Eddie Edwards, with Larry Sweeney. The first match to be announced for the tapings taking place in Philadelphia, PA, on February 28 is Jimmy Jacobs versus Tyler Black, and Kenny Omega has been added for the March 1 tapings. Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries, and Tyler Black have all been announced for the March 20 show in Elizabeth, PA, as well as the card in New York, NY, on March 21. When ROH hits Houston, TX, on WrestleMania weekend for shows on both April 3 and April 4, Katsuhiko Nakajima is being advertised.

The National Wrestling Alliance has announced the next tapings for the NWA Wrestling Showcase will take place at CBS’ Columbia Square Studios in Los Angeles, CA, on March 7 and March 8.

World Wrestling Alliance 4 will be at the WWA4 Wrestling School in Atlanta, GA, tonight. Admission is free. Bell time is at 8:00.

Kin Folk Wrestling will be at the National Guard Armory in Pigeon Forge, TN, tonight.

The Micro Wrestling Federation will be at the Blue Rooster Bar & Music Hall in Murfreesboro, TN, tonight.

Today In Memoriam: Chick Garibaldi (46, 1961), Cal Farley (71, 1967), Mildred Burke (73, 1989), Kerry Von Erich (33, 1993), Eddie Gilbert (33, 1995), and ‘Slick’ Robbie D (32, 2002).

Some changes have taken place recently at Rampage Pro Wrestling, based in Warner Robins, GA. Nick Patrick has an on camera role as the commissioner of RPW, as well as helping out with the referees and other behind the scenes duties. Joe Hamilton has also been at RPW for the past few weeks helping out with finishes and the formatting of the television show that airs weekly in Macon. Katie Mayo is out as Nigel Sherrod’s broadcast partner. She was replaced by Tracy Taylor at the February 15 show. Taylor made end up as part of a rotation of color commentators.

Cross Creek Baseball & Softball will present a night of wrestling at Cross Creek High School in Augusta, GA, on February 19. V.I.P. entry is 7PM, with general admission at 7:30. Bell time is 8 PM. Tickets are $15 for V.I.P. floor seats and $10 for bleachers. Advertised: Ricky Morton, Bobby Eaton, Buff Bagwell, Skater Boy, and more.

Folkstyle Championship Wrestling will be at the FCW Arena in Sandhill, GA, on February 20. Advertised: Cru Jones vs. Scott Steele. Murder One, w/Princeton Gainey III, & a mystery partner vs. Frankie Valentine & J-Rod. Billy Love vs. Bobby Moore. Adam Vega vs. Ron Stalker. Last Soldier vs. J-Bo. Bulldog Raines & "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers are also scheduled to be at the event. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Doors open at 7:00 and bell time is at 8:00.

NWA Charlotte presents “Power Struggle” at the NWA Coliseum in Charlotte, NC, on February 28. The doors will open at 7:00 PM, a pre-show countdown at 7:30, with matches getting underway at 8 PM. Tickets are $5 general admission. Ringside is $15, “Rockstar” Seating is $25, and children 10 and under admitted free with paid adult. Advertised: Phil Shatter takes on Larry Zbyszko. The run for the NWA US Championship continues between Timber, Mikael Judas, Truitt Fields, and Ryan O’Reilly. Plus, new NWA Heritage Champion Baby Doll, legendary referee Tommy Young, and more.

Gimmicks Only Underground Grappling Entertainment will present the “Redneck Rumble” at Stem Fire Hall, in Stem, NC, on March 7. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Bell time 8:00 PM. Advertised: Winner of the Redneck Rumble featuring Eskimo Joe, Jimmy Cicero, Sean Alexander, Wallabee Joe, the Taker, Nicky Richards, Brawny Garvin, the Goat, Rob McBride, Luther Thesz, Trailer Park Heat, B.J. Miracle, Popo the Klown, Lolo the Klown, Dodo the Klown, David Blanchard, and others to be announced, to take on Seymour Snott for the Gouge championship later that night.
