The Wrestling Observer has nominated Jeff Hardy’s Survivor Series attack angle as the number 1 "Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic" of 2008 (according to fan response). If this is because most opinions imply that it was because of drug abuse, I personally take offense to the "award." Subsequently, I only post this because as someone who needs to be completely objective in his reporting, I feel obliged to say that WWE NEVER teased an overdose, but only said that Hardy was found unconscious in his hotel the morning of the Survivor Series PPV. It was only through internet reporting that people began to assume it was a play on Hardy’s past drug experience, and nothing within the storyline that would actually imply that fact. If people want to argue that WWE may have lured WWE fans into thinking this was a shoot due to past Hardy violations I can understand that, but retrospectively it does NOT dictate that WWE was actually implying that Hardy was victim of an "overdose," nor should it qualify as "disgusting," because afterall, weren’t we all waiting to see Christian run-in at the Rumble tonight? It sparked attention. And the people I was sitting next to tonight during the Rumble seemed to care only about the angle, not the internet spin that was placed on it.
