NEWS and NOTES

Tonight at 9:00 PM ET, tune in for a PSP Fix, as Georgia Wrestling History’s Rich Tate and the Wrestling Observer‘s Dave Meltzer preview World Wrestling Entertainment‘s Royal Rumble PPV, to take place on January 25.

WWE will be in Toledo, OH, at the Savage Arena, for a tri-branded show tonight.

WWE has announced that the RAW/ECW crew will be at the San Angelo Coliseum in San Angelo, TX, on March 15. Tickets go on sale on January 31.

Total Nonstop Action will be at the Wembley Arena in London, England, tonight. Advertised: Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Beer Money, Team 3D, Consequences Creed, Sheik Abdul Bashir, ODB, Christy Hemme, the Beautiful People, Abyss, Matt Morgan, and Doug Williams.

The final overall rating for Thursday’s edition of TNA’s iMPACT was 1.1.

TNA has announced the following events: March 20, at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, PR; and April 4, at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, LA.

TNA has also added the following dates to their taping schedule for iMPACT: March 16-17, March 30-31, and April 21-22. All tapings are held at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL.

NWA Charlotte returns to Charlotte, NC for “Homecoming” at the brand new NWA Coliseum, tonight. The doors will open at 6:30 PM, with a pre-show countdown at 7:30, and matches getting underway at 8 PM. Tickets are $5 general admission. Ringside is $15, “Rockstar” seating is $25, and children 10 and under admitted free with paid adult. Advertised: This debut show is a TV taping with matches to include NWA Main Event with Adam Pearce taking on Brent Albright for the right to face NWA World Champion Blue Demon, Jr., in February for the title. Phil Shatter battles Mikal Judas for the NWA National Championship. Ivan Koloff squares off against the Barbarian for the NWA Charlotte Legends Championship, with Tommy Young as referee. Action Mike Jackson takes on Ultimate Dragon for the Southeast Cruiserweight Championship. Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas, aka the Naturals, battle Derek Driver & Steven Walters, aka New Wave. Joey Sylvia goes against Dylan Cage. Truitt Fields is one on one against Ryan O’Reilly. Kimo, w/ Jeff G. Bailey, & Jeff Lewis vs. Joey Agony & Ryan Chaos, aka Chaotic Agony.

Pro Wrestling Fusion will be at Boomerz Night Club in Seminole, FL, tonight for “New Beginnings”. Advertised: The Sheik defends the PWF championship against Abdullah the Butcher. The Heartbreak Express vs. Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake & Greg "the Hammer" Valentine. Prince Iaukea vs. Steve Madison. Jon Davis vs. Christopher Gray. Tommy Taylor vs. Brad Attitude. Jack Manley vs. Chris Jones. Bruce Santee vs. Francisco Ciatso, w/The Double Deuce Social Club. VIP tickets are $15, which includes a picture with Beefcake & Valentine. General admission is $10. Doors open at 6:00 and bell time is at 6:30.

NWA Main Event returns to Portland, TN, tonight at the Richland Park Gym headlined by Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Jeff "The Crippler" Daniels (with Dominique). Also advertised: Matt Boyce vs. Lani Kealoha, Pat Tanaka vs. Steve-O, "Magnum" Shane Smalls vs. Yoshi Kwan (with Charming Charles), and two other matches. Bell time is 7:30pm. Lawler will also be making a personal appearance at the Hollywood Video Store in Henderson, TN, from 4-5pm today.

The Alabama Wrestling Federation will be at the George County Fairgrounds in Lucedale, MS, tonight. Advertised: Loser leaves town match, Heidenreich, w/Dr. Karl Smith, vs. Doink the Clown, w/Big Red Wead. Tickets are $10, and kids 6 and under get in for free. Superstar; in a return match, Robbie Race & Donovan Daniels versus the Death Row Inmates; and Michael Wayne versus Howie Gibson. Three other matches are slated, including midgets in action. Bell time is 8:00 PM.

Dirty South Pro Wrestling will be at the East Brewton Civic Center in Brewton, AL, tonight. Advertised: Tiny Tiswell, DDG, 610 Kid, Gothic Warrior, Mystress, Cowboy Ray, Short Bandit, Zachery Johnson, Stone, AB3, B-Country, Romeo, and Brother Payne. Tickets are $10 ringside and $5 general.

Savannah Valley Wrestling will be at the Graybell Auction in Danielsville, GA, tonight for “New Horizons”. Tickets are $10, and kids under 13 get in for free. Bell time is at 7:30.

United States Wrestling Organization results from January 23 at the Stadium Inn in Nashville, TN, with 75 in attendance: Derrick Neal beat Convict Clown; Antonio Cathey & Cody Whitehead beat Travis Starr & Trakan Mathias and Psycho Medic & Shawn Hoodrich in a 3-way when Whitehead pinned Mathias; USWO Jr. Champion Lee Cross beat Jason Xavier; Tim Renesto & Saint beat Cathey & Whitehead when Saint pinned Whitehead after Renesto hit him with an international object; USWO Tag Team Champions Shane Eden & Steven Green beat Josh Crowe & Lee Cross (w/Ronnie Vegas) when Eden pinned Crowe; USWO Champion Mitch Ryder beat J.D. Fluffy; L.T. Falk beat Damien Payne in a 2/3 falls match. JANUARY 24, 1933 (TUESDAY) – ATLANTA, GA – ATLANTA MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM (Henry Weber – Promoter / Georgia Championship Wrestling) > Pat O’Shocker versus Whitey Hewitt ruled a no contest at 30:45 > Handicap Match: Jim McMillen defeated Jack Zarnas at 62:30 (2-0) / Notes: The match between Jim McMillen and Jack Zarnas required the former to defeat the latter within ninety minutes. Doc Langford was credited as being a referee on this card.

The origin of the World Junior Welterweight Title is unclear to us at this time. Jack Ross had been billed as the Southern Lightweight Champion since May 2, 1932.
