ESPN.com is reporting that the Oscar De La Hoya fight against Manny Pacquiao, which took place last weekend, scored a 2008 PPV high of 1.25 million buys. Earlier this year, WWE had wanted De La Hoya to appear at Wrestlemania 24 along side Floyd Mayweather, but those plans fell through. It seems as if it makes no difference to De La Hoya, as his draw last weekend will most likely end up being somewhere around 1.4 million buys when the final numbers come in. Wrestlemania 24 brought in 1.1 million buys, which was expected to be the top PPV draw of the year, but has now been ironically beaten.
