Shark Boy Injured Over the Weekend, Impact! Ratings Breakdown



The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that TNA wrestler Shark Boy suffered some sort of knee injury at a house show in Laredo, Texas last Saturday night. The knee was examined by doctors over the weekend and he is not expected to miss any Impact! taping time.

The following is a ratings breakdown for the July 24 edition of TNA Impact! The Eric Young vs. Consequences Creed vs. Jimmy Rave match lost 95,000 viewers. Kaz’s segment with Karen Angle, and a Matt Morgan squashed match gained 14,000 viewers. The Beer Money vs. Motor City Machine Guns strap match along with three short Velvet Sky vs. Taylor Wilde matches gained 122,000 viewers. The highest rated segment of the show featured the introduction of Daivari’s new wrestling character and Sonjay Dutt in the hospital with SoCal Val, which gained 68,000 viewers for a 1.19 rating. The main event featuring Kurt Angle & Team 3-D vs. A.J. Styles & Christian Cage & Rhino, plus the Booker and Samoa Joe contract signing, lost 27,000 viewers to finish with a 1.17. The 7/24 Impact drew its best number in several months with a 1.11 rating and 1.5 million viewers. In the demos, the show did a 0.71 in Males 18-34 and 0.95 in Males 35-49, so the latter number is where they gained the extra viewers.
