Even MORE Reader Feedback on Raw and My Review

I just got done reading your review and well, I agree that Raw should have had more matches, but i also wished that the debut of the new tag champs was longer as i want to actually see the “Priceless” one wrestle instead of doing only 2 or 3 moves. One more thing, I’m happy that WWE are actually letting younger talent win the titles on RAW. I’m sick of all the usual suspects winning.

I have to say I felt you were incredibly generous in giving 4.5 stars. This I have to say is the worst RAW I have seen in the last 9 years of me watching it; and that is saying a lot. To be fair I have also missed my fair share but after the draft I thought about who was were. Besides, Kane, HBK, and Jericho, I couldn’t care less about anyone on RAW. I like Beth Phoenix and Melina but they do not make or break a show for me. Now to why I hated it. 1st JR was a little long-winded. Edge’s appearance was nice and the closest thing Batista is going to get to closure with Edge was brutal looking but entertaining. Now here is where the show starts losing it for me. CM Punk walks down the aisle. Correct me if I am wrong but the biggest singles win I recall him having is over John Morrison. WWE wasted so much time not building him into a serious contender and with the way he won, I am supposed to hold this title in the same regard as always? What kind of face tells the ref to hurry up so he can sneak in his finisher? Is this the kind of faces/heroes RAW is going to build up? First, HBK’s character compromises his values and deceives people into thinking he’s hurt. I completely buy the Jericho/HBK story and I have to say, I hope Jericho kicks the crap out of him (story wise). RVD did it respectably and didin’t look like a wuss. Basically, I would have had no problem with Punk winning the title had he had more quality wins and not been such a pansy about it. Mysterio should never have a mic in his hand and I hoped we were out of the televised jobber match era. Completly agree on Jericho’s DQ. I was so hoping JBL would win. Right now Raw has potentially 3 big heels. Y2J (involved in angle), JBL and potentially Kane; if they chose to turn him. Who wants to see Punk headline a PPV with JBL or Kane? Orton cannot come back soon enough. JBL against Batista, Cena, later HBK (and you know you would love those promos with HBK) a short angle with Kane, Punk or Mysterio. That too me makes more sense. I am not sure how loyally I will watch RAW after last night. Ill take SmackDown with MVP, Jeff Hardy, Edge, Kennedy, Game, Big Show and maybe soon Taker.

Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes… come on… his finisher is a DDT, a move that 95 percent of wrestlers use. Anybody else would’ve been better off winning because in my opinion Cody Rhodes is a shitty heel and gives shitty promos. it would’ve been cooler if a face tag team like cryme time or, uhh, do they have anymore face teams that don’t suck or are solid fan favorites??

Finally there is a wrestling God that looks down on us and performs miracles that or either WWE hired a new write becuase finally WWE is starting to turn things around a little bit and put the company in a new direction. It all started with last week’s draft which I must say was the best draft ever done so far. Then at night of Champions having Kofi Kingston win the IC Championship was something I never saw coming. Then Monday on Raw. I loved the opening segment I thought it was brilliantly done. I had actually just watched the WrestleMania 24 DVD where Punk won the MITB, but I never put them together when Raw didn’t have a champion. I honestly thought Cena would get it back somehow which I didn’t want. We then have Mickie v.s. Jillian which is pointless where is Beth Pheonix who did she piss off to get shot out of the title picture. I’m a huge fan of Mickie both talent and looks (I just wish she would go back to wearing the little skirts). Next is the Rey & Santino promo segment. I must say that this may be the last time fans boos Smackdown because something tells me it’s fixing to pick up over thare and be a great show. Santino is funny and I think it would be a nice feud for Rey to come back with. I could actually see a decent match between the two. Next is the CM Punk interview which JBL interrupts I was screaming out loud when Punk accepted JBL’s challenge becuase I knew for sure JBL would be champ by the end of the night. We now get our next promo with John Cena. Same old thing blah blah blah waste of air and time. PLEASE WWE TURN HIM HEEL AND SEE IF THAT WOULD WORK WITH HIM. Then JBL comes out with his own personal security to escort Cena out of the ring. Who cares. Next are the new world tag team champions Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. I like this team and would love if they would somehow go through with that second generation stable with Orton as their mouthpiece while he gets better. Tons of potential here. No Hardcore Holly guess he’s going back in the lower card shuffle once again. Sad because Im a big Hardcore fan. Now we see Noble flirting with Katie Lea and trying to impress her by standing up to Kane. Here’s what I dont get your running from Kane you run all the way to the ring. And then you stop Why? keep running through the crowd I mean theres not a brick wall in front of you keep going. They could have had it where when Noble goes to run Kane walks another way. Noble runs through the crowd and then he thinks he’s safe, but Kane is behind him and beats the crap out of him. OK too much for a segment that wasn’t suppose to mean anything I know just thinking. Where does Kane go from here beating up lower talent? Now is the IC championship match with Jericho & Kofi nice little match nothing special. Is Jericho going to start ripping his opponents eyes out now as a gimmick Kane already done that it didn’t work. Now it’s time for the main event of Punk v.s. JBL for the Championship quick match I for sure thought JBL would win and we would have a new champion, but I was wrong. I was confused to see Crime Tyme by Cena’s side since when have they been involved in the main event or with Cena. Maybe this is the start of a new push for them. They should have had Cena and Crime Tyme come through the crowd instead. Also if JBL had told some of his security to stand guard at the entrances maybe they wouldn’t have came back. Think WWE you got to cover all bases. Glad to see Punk retain Championship. Interesting to see what happens with this and how long he will keep it. I hope he’s not just a champ just to get by right now. I’m interested to see also what happens on Smackdown. Im not sure if you have seen it but on WWE.com they had a pole that asked which show do u watch the most and I was shocked to see ECW in first place. OH I almost forgot about the McMahon family announcement on Vince’s condition they said we would have on Raw. Wait no I didn’t they didn’t have one it was just Shane who wasn’t even there saying he wants to respect his father’s privacy. Ok you show your ass on world wide TV and now u care about privacy lol. I hope this is where they dont mention anything about it and then in a few months start a huge storyline with it. Maybe something that gets the Undertaker back into the scene.

Great review, I 100% agree with you. Really like these reviews you are doing. Weird thing is, I noticed Jillian as well. It is the first time that I had some dirty thoughts about her while watching. Can’t figure out why she looked so good this particular time……

I think it was because her hair was straightened. Maybe not, but she did look tasty.

You are right Nick, your going to get blasted. I will trade a couple good matches for that kind of excitement any day. I agree the show should consist of 3-4 good matches normally, but that was an extremely exciting Raw edition. Between JRâs speech, Edgeâs unannounced interruption, Batista whips his ass, and of course CM Punk âcashing inâ, the 1st 20 minutes were more exciting than the last 10 episodes combined. Jericho was a very solid match, although quick, it was still well done. The main event was good too. Give it a rest; the promos were all done to develop new feuds, new participants to raw, new heels, and finally a new world champion. That Raw has set the stage for at least 3-4 good feuds for this summer.
