As we’ve reported, former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley has signed a non-exclusive contract with Mixed Martial Arts promotion American Fight League. He will be competing in two fights for the company, with his first fight scheduled for October.
Lashley has been telling friends that he signed with AFL with the intention of establishing himself as a legit MMA competitor and then plans to move on to bigger companies, such as UFC, Elite XC or Affliction.
Sources close to Bobby Lashley say that TNA is an option but not a top priority, even though many within TNA have sent out feelers to him. Lashley seems a lot more serious on his MMA career but will still continue to accept independent wrestling bookings. His future will depend on how his MMA career goes and whether TNA makes him a serious offer.
