WWE turned Floyd Mayweather into a full-fledged heel and Big Show into a face backed by the WWE wrestlers in the weigh-in angle tonight. Going with the natural crowd reaction, it came across well, with Show picking up Mayweather and throwing him over the top rope onto several wrestlers. The spot will likely be replayed not only for the next few weeks but probably for years to come as a far better version of the Muhammad Ali/Gorilla Monsoon spot. Mayweather got up selling like he injured his elbow, which for all we know, it’s possible he really did. This led to Mayweather’s posse and the wrestlers going at it in a wild scene. Chris Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy last night on RAW to win the IC title. The crowd was pro-Y2J for the match. Hardy was able to duck an Enzuigiri and hit the Twist of Fate. He then went to the top rope for the finish but it backfired because Jericho moved and the Swanton got nothing. Y2J hit his new CODEBREAKER finisher and won the title. I’m sensing there are problems with Hardy backstage. We’ll see. I’ve heard some stuff but I’ll hold off on reporting it for now.
So far, this years WWE Hall of Fame features Flair, Maivia, Rocky Johnson, Mae Young., and THE BRISCO BROTHERS (Jack and Gerry), who were both announced on RAW last night. We were shown clips of the Brisco’s holding 20 tag titles. Gerry held a few singles titles but Jack was NWA world champion. Twice. They even plugged the Brisco Brothers Body Shop in Tampa and JR called them the greatest brother tag team in wrestling.
