De La Hoya Speaks On WWE, Mayweather Update, Cena

— Oscar De La Hoya spoke to the Las Vegas Review about Floyd Mayweather’s involvement with WWE leading in to WrestleMania. De La Hoya said he’s not worried about Mayweather getting hurt in the ring and he’s sure Mayweather will be successful playing a role in entertainment. “Obviously, any visibility a fighter can have is great,” he said. “Floyd Mayweather is doing a lot of touring and appearances, which is a plus for our September rematch. — Speaking of Mayweather, SportsIllustrated.com has finally picked up the story which WWE must be happy about. “We’ve wanted to do something with Mayweather for quite sometime,” Shane McMahon told SI.com. “I brought my dad [Vince McMahon] into it because he grew up and did a lot of promotions with [Muhammad] Ali and I told him this guy is Ali-plus. — The filming of WWE Films’ next movie, “12 Rounds” starring John Cena, began filming in New Orleans yesterday. IMDB.com has updated the cast list to remove Al Pacino and Method Man, who were rumored for some sort of roles in the movie.
