Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs. The Big Show is now official for Wrestlemania 24. WWE had contacted boxer Oscar De La Hoya regarding Wrestlemania. The idea was for De La Hoya to team with Rey Mysterio Jr. against Mayweather Jr. and a partner. The De La Hoya vs. Mayweather boxing match did 2.4 million PPV buys. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that De La Hoya’s camp turned it down wanting nothing to do with pro wrestling.
At the WrestleMania 24 press conference earlier today in Los Angeles, a match was announced that will feature Maria and Candice Michelle teaming in what was described as a Playboy Bunny Match. Opponents for Candice and Maria were not named.
Here is the updated card for WWE WrestleMania 24 on Sunday, March 30, live and only on Pay Per View from Orlando, Florida at the Florida Citrus Bowl:
WWE Championship – Triple Threat Match
– Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple H vs. John Cena.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
– Edge (c) vs. The Undertaker.
“Money in the Bank” Ladder Match
(Winner earns a shot at a WWE World Title)
– Qualified so far: WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy and Shelton Benjamin.
– Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs. The Big Show.
Playboy Bunny Match
– Maria & Candice Michelle vs. to be announced.
