WWE Champion Undergoes Surgery, Vickie Guerrero, ROH, More



Rory McAlister underwent surgery yesterday to repair a pectoral tear – which was torn completely off the bone. McAlister posted a blog on his MySpace page saying that he doesn’t know how the injury happened, but he had incredible pain in his chest. WWE immediately sent him for an MRI. The tear was discovered and he went for surgery. During the surgery, surgeons realized his injury was worse than expected. No word on when he’ll be back, but it won’t be anytime soon.

At a recent Ring of Honor show in Chicago, IL, former WWE superstar Joey Matthews (Mercury) was seen backstage coaching a lot of the talent. Due to recent cut backs in ROH, Matthews won’t be offered a full-time spot until one opens up.

AAA would like to bring in Vickie Guerrero to induct Eddy Guerrero into the Mexican promotion’s hall of fame, but of course, that’s unlikely to happen, so AAA may pick one of Eddy’s brothers to do the honors.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. lists James Laurinaitis (son of Road Warrior Animal and nephew of WWE’s John Laurinaitis) is listed as the top linebacker for the 2009 NFL Draft, projecting him as a top five selection. Laurinaitis decided against entering this year’s draft to return.
