The Iron Sheik Update, ‘Taker Update, Vince, Savage

The newly reinvented Iron Sheik and his real life manager come clean about their Frankenstein act in Kayfabe Commentaries’ new DVD, “Rebuilding The Sheik,” on sale today. For the past few years, The Iron Sheik (Koshrov Vaziri) and his manager Eric Simms have been riding a wave of recaptured popularity. The Internet is loaded with hit-heavy clips of the former WWE champion cutting impromptu promos, assaulting his manager Simms, and arguing with drug dealers on his cell phone. These exploits have yielded tons of public appearances, visits to the Howard Stern Show, and a spot on the Killers of Comedy Tour. But at what price? “Rebuilding The Sheik” seeks to get under the hood and explore just how many of the alleged “shoots” are manufactured by Vaziri and Simms. Topics covered on the DVD include Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior and his disdain for Vaziri, Howard Stern, Bubba the Love Sponge, Vaziri’s alleged drug addiction, the day-to-day wrangling of The Iron Sheik, Vaziri vs the character of “Iron Sheik”, his return to the WWE, Simms’ responsibility as his “brother’s keeper”, and much more. The disc went onsale today at www.kayfabecommentaries.com.

As of a few weeks ago, the plan was still for The Undertaker to win the Royal Rumble match. Of course, WWE is trying to make their booking a little less predictable.

With the introduction to HD, WWE wrestlers have been told to work more physical in the work, thus demonstrating a stiffer ring style.

The reason WWE issued the initial 2008 releases for DVDs with more titles is because Vince McMahon insisted on it. He, of course, didnât approve the list before it was released, thus WWE is scrambling to fill the vacant dates due to the cancellation of the Randy Savage and Sting DVD projects. A possible replacement might be the second Bret Hart DVD project.
