We reported earlier that The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had noted a big name of WWE’s past – a multi-champion superstar was set to return with the company.
The January 14th edition of the Newsletter confirms that former multi-time WWE Champion Paul Wight – The Big Show – has either signed with the company or has agreed to a deal, and will be starting full-time very soon.
Big Show is down to 440 lbs after leaving pro wrestling to rest, and pursue a possible career in boxing, which obviously included boxing training that got him in quite a good shape. Dave Meltzer also mentions in the Observer that a part of his boxing deal was that Hulk Hogan was to be his “front man” acting like a manager in wrestling for him by doing promos and appearances. This was also the main reason many boxing promoters were actually interested in Big Show and paying him so much money to learn the sport. These plans, however, fell apart at some point, and Show realized that at his age, boxing might not be the right direction to go anyway. There have also been no recent updates or even talks of Hogan doing his own wrestling tour – a very discussed topic of the past. Hence with nothing on the horizon, Big Show is back with WWE.
REMINDER: Rob Van Dam and Leticia Cline will be the guests on the return edition of WrestleZone Radio this Monday night from 7-9 PM EST. I (Ryan Clark) will be on the show on a weekly basis as well to run down all the latest news and rumors. This is going to be a lot of fun each week and the fan response to the show returning has been amazing already. The show used to be the biggest online wrestling radio show back in its heyday and will almost surely take that spot once again with the amount of promotion we will be giving it. I’m thrilled that this show is coming back and proud to be a part of it once again. More information on the show can be found at this link. I know they have Kip James, Christy Hemme, and Marty Janetty all booked for the show in the next two or three weeks so it’s off to a great start. It’s this Monday night from 7-9 PM EST at http://www.wrestlezone.com/radio/
SITE NOTE: I (Ryan Clark) am really excited about the weekly return of WrestleZone Radio this Monday night from 7-9 PM EST. Matt Boone and I ran the show for nearly five years before we decided to take an extended break. The show returns Monday night with new co-hosts although I will be on for a weekly news segment each week. The show will air every Monday night prior to RAW from 7EST – 9EST. We return THIS MONDAY with special guests ROB VAN DAM and LETICIA CLINE. You’ll be able to call-in live and ask questions for both stars! I really look forward to you tuning in every week and interacting with you all. To visit the official WZR site: CLICK HERE!
