WrestleZone.com is reporting that Ron Killings has verbally agreed to or has already signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. WrestleZone.com will have more on this later.
As noted earlier today in a report regarding rumors of a Chris Harris departure from TNA to WWE, his deal with TNA expires soon (with one report indicating it may be expiring in a week). Harris was overheard making noises within TNA about leaving and apparently no one in TNA went out of their way to panic too much about it. As of now, the entire situation is said to be up in the air on if he will stay or leave. Either way, we will continue to follow this story as it develops.
The 1/4 edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown drew a final 2.9 broadcast rating. This was up from the 2.5 rating the show drew the week prior (which a good number in itself considering it was a “Best of 2007” show).
Former WCW announcer Chris Cruise wrote an editorial questioning some comments Jim Ross made in a recent blog about Congress looking into steroid use in professional wrestling. Basically, Ross believes that Congress should have better things to do than to look into possible steroid use in professional wrestling. Ross wrote: “I understand Congress getting involved with (this) issue, but it is hard for any American citizen to debate the fact that Congress doesnât have more pressing issues on their plate than this issue. Hopefully Congress can expedite these hearings and develop a plan to solve the problem…” Cruise wrote: “If you care at all about the health of boys and young men in this country, and want to work to keep them from using steroids, you will encourage Congress to investigate pro wrestling (or you will at least remain silent on the issue), because surely WWE is incapable of keeping steroids out of pro wrestling. A brief viewing of any WWE TV shows is proof of that.”
AskMen.com has deemed Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke to be a “trashy babe.” Brooke ranks at No. 7 on their “Top 10: Trashy Babes We Love” list. Regarding Brooke, they wrote: “Brooke Hogan has two things going for her: Sheâs a prototypical bleached blonde and her dad is the Hulkster. Her music blows and her acting on the MTV series Hogan Knows Best leaves a lot to be desired. Despite her relative lack of talent, Hogan doesnât sound or look much different than Ashlee Simpson.
