– WWE is set to put a “Sting” in the tail of its closest rivals TNA, as their 2008 list of DVD releases will feature a “best of Sting” like compilation despite the legendary wrestler being with TNA, and never actually setting foot in a WWE ring.
As wrestling fans know, WWE owns the rights to the WCW library and thus to much of Sting’s career footage.
This couldn’t come at a worse time, as Sting’s future with TNA is still uncertain and if WWE could coax him over with a DVD release TNA would be without its icon. It would be interesting to know if Sting could legally take part in his WWE DVD, whilst still being with TNA, or if he’d even want to.
If Sting signs his new contract he’d be with TNA until the end of 2008. The DVD is listed to be released in December 2008. Ironic?
