News On Mysterio, Royal Rumble, ECW Rating Is In, & More



Big Vision Entertainment has announced that they will release a âBest of Rey Misterio Jr. â” The Early Years❠on DVD on January 8, 2008. The piece will feature independent wrestling footage of Misterio early in his career. The promotional material for the DVD reads: “Rey Misterio, Jr. broke nearly every barrier in pro wrestling when the young Hispanic superstar became wrestling champion of the world! But, long before he would headline for ECW, WCW or WWE, Rey’s was honing his craft and sharpening his skills on wrestling shows in the bull rings and small arenas in Mexico. Now, these once lost tapes have been found! Featuring encounters with Psicosis, Juventud Guerrera, La Parka, Octagon, Pentagon, Halloween, Damien and more! WWE has finally posted ticket information for their Royal Rumble pay-per-view next month. Tickets will only be available on the Ticketmaster web site and not at box offices. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, December 29th at 10 AM and are priced at $400, $90, $75, $50, and $35. WWE Royal Rumble will take place on Sunday, January 27th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The 12/25 Christmas edition of ECW on Sci Fi, which was a “Best of 2007” show, drew a final 0.9 cable rating.

Dave N. sent word that at the end of tonight’s “Best of 2007” edition of Friday Night Smackdown, a “Beat the Clock” competition has been announced starting next week where the winner will face Edge at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Title.
