Chris â<80><9c>The Authorityâ<80> Schultz’s Take on Impact: 10/11″/><img class=

With Florida State taking on Wake Forest (football) on ESPN and Game 1 of the NLCS going, I was praying that TNA would give us a good show tonight so I wouldn’t feel like I missed anything. Impact didn’t disappoint heading into their biggest weekend and PPV of the year, Bound for Glory. Again, their name says it all. Total Nonstop Action. This was truly the case since the opening bell.

The first match of the night with Black Machismo versus Havok got the show off to a fast pace. It was the X Division at it’s best again. Havok (aka Johnny Devine) and Machismo (aka Jay Lethal) gave the fans something to cheer about with their high flying abilities and risk taking repertoire. Daniels watched on as Machismo, the clear favorite, went on to get the victory. Not only can Lethal talk like Savage, but his moves in the ring are dead on in comparison to the original Macho Man!

WOW! Mrs. Haas, I mean Karen Angle just gets better looking every time I lay eyes on her. Brunette is definitely her look. We all know who she really is and Britney Spears couldn’t even look that good after giving birth. She has come a long way since Tough Enough, don’t you think? Did the dummy Sting that fell from the rafters remind anyone else of WCW?

Thank God TNA signed Kevin Nash. He just entertains the heck out me and I am sure, countless other fans. He is a natural in front of the camera. I know I speak for a lot of wrestling fans when I say Big Sexy needs to make his in ring return soon. Maybe Sting telling him not to lose his edge might be hint to the future.

Worst Match of the Night: For the second week in a row, Team Pacman receives the honor for being the biggest waste of time during the 2 hours. Who wants to see Adam âPacman❠Jones throw a football in the ring? Then the NFL superstar made it rain by throwing money at Triple X? This is getting really pathetic and TNA should just cut the guy loose. He is useless if he can’t wrestle. Hell, his mic skills are worse than Jones staying out of trouble. I will give big props to Ron âThe Truth❠Killings again for playing double duty and carrying the whole match. Please tell me that AJ Styles and Tomko can put the World Tag Team Titles around their waist this weekend in order to return some dignity to those belts.

Out comes the Steiner Brothers. It’s always good to see the Dog Faced Gremlin and Big Poppa Pump. However, I almost threw up when I saw them give hugs and fist pounds to Team Pacman. Are you kidding? This is the Steiner Brothers, not Billy and Chucky. Both the Steiners and Team 3D can really bring it on the microphone. Let’s hope both teams can bring their A game this Sunday. This has the potential to be a really good match up.

OK. Who are these TNA Knockouts? I have not seen half of them. Unless they are bringing out these ladies for eye candy, I don’t anticipate much of a wrestling match this Sunday. You can’t just create a TNA Women’s Title and then go and hire a women’s division in one week. I was impressed with the Amazing Kong. I would be shocked if survives her wrath at Bound for Glory. I won’t even comment on the Sonjay Dutt/Don West segment.

Did anyone else spot Albert with Tomko in that Japan clip? That doesn’t look like a bad team at all. Will we see them in TNA? What we did see tonight was the first edition of Christian Cage’s new show, Chatting with the Champ. I wasn’t impressed with TNA’s originality on this. Looked very similar to the set of Carlito’s Cabana. However, Cage and Styles definitely have the edge over Carlito in the humor department. Christian and AJ have me rolling with all the hilarious segments throughout TNA programming. I don’t want these two athletes ever to break up. How big is LAX going to get? I was literally concerned for Jeremy Borash’s safety during that segment.

Petey Williams and Robert Roode almost took the award for the best match of the night. These two seem very comfortable wrestling each other and have great chemistry in the ring. How can Robert Roode continue to yell at Traci Brooks? Tell me it’s all part of the master plan. No sane man could do that to such a beautiful creature. I can’t believe that we have been through two 2 hour Impacts and still no Canadian Destroyer. What’s the deal? By the way, Kaz is my hero and my knight in shining armor. Yeah right!

Match of the Night: Black Reign and Raven versus Rhino and Abyss totally stole the show tonight. I was really missing âHardcore❠and they brought it back tonight. ECW is a joke compared to the battles these guys have. Not only was this the match I looked forward to the most, it surpassed my expectations. Abyss took a sick Raven Evenflow DDT face first into a pile of tacks. With the tacks sticking out of Abyss’s head, the blood started to flow. These are 4 or professional wrestling’s toughest SOB’s and they proved it tonight. Monster’s Ball at Bound for Glory should be a violent and bloody affair. Matt Morgan is one big dude. Yet another Tough Enough competitor making it big in another company. Whose show was it?

The last match between LAX/Junior Fatu vs. Angle and Team 3D was entertaining to say the least. Hernandez really has more talent that I gave him credit for. Although the crowd was totally behind Fatu and the former tag team champs, it was Angle who made the pin, thus continuing his winning ways. I didn’t realize that Angle is now an 11 time world champion. Ric Flair better watch out. His record is in jeopardy. The show went off the air with a tremendous video package that gave me goosebumps about this Sunday’s Bound for Glory PPV and Sting posing as a member of LAX. You gotta love the unexpected and disguise. All in all, Impact was enjoyable. I give the show a B-. See you at Bound for Glory.
