Major Update On Failed Drug Test, Backstage News

Nate Diaz will be fighting at UFC Fight Night 11. His opponent has not yet been named.

The following is from UFC Junkie: What was supposed to be a UFC Fight Night 11 main event between Mike Swick (10-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Chris Leben (16-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) will likely be scratched from the Sept. 19 fight card. Swick, a cast member from The Ultimate Fighter 1, spoke exclusively to UFCjunkie.com yesterday evening about the unfortunate turn of events. âHe backed out,❠Swick said. âHe didnât take it. It kind of sucks with how tough he talks about fighting anyone, anywhere. He kept saying we could rematch anytime.â

The following is an excerpt from a new Josh Gross interview-column on Sherdog.com: “I did not appeal the decision because I have been in Spain for the last 1 1/2 (months) on vacation with my family, and for me to appeal, I would have to get a lawyer, and then get some experts to run tests and then get more experts to argue with their experts — or I can just pay $2,500 fine, and sit out for one year,” Gracie said via e-mail Monday. “Well, I fight once a year anyway and it’s much cheaper to pay $2,500 in fine then $10,000 retainer to attorney’s alone. As for my fans, those who believe me, believe me anyway, and those who don’t, does not matter what I do, or what I say, they will not believe anyway.”
