Benoit Update: More Neighbors Talk, GAB, WWE

Fox Channel 5 in Atlanta has a story up about James Robison, who was a neighbor of Chris Benoit’s. Robison discussed talking to Chris, Nancy and Daniel just a few hours before the start of the tragedies on Friday, June 22. Robison noted that he talked to the family about keeping the 4th of July open for a get-together. He said Benoit told him he would be out on the road and would talk to him when he got back. “I analyzed that conversation over and over, and there was nothing strange. Nothing peculiar about it. Just a typical conversation that you would have,” said Robison. Rev. George Dillard was also interviewed for the piece, who was the pastor at the church that Nancy and Daniel Benoit had been attending. Rev. Dillard noted that Nancy recently approached him about spiritual counseling, but nothing in regards to marriage. Both Dillard and Robison agreed that there were no warning signs from the family before their shocking deaths.

BruzerJeff passed on a link to an article by EntertaimentWise.com looking at the Chris Benoit tragedy including a poll asking if it is the end for WWE.

Luke sent this in: Hey guys, I’ve just noticed on the Great American Bash main page that they’ve made reference to the Kevin Sullivan / Chris Benoit match from the 1996 Bash. It’s quite surprising to see this (quite clearly too) as WWE seems to want to forget the entire Benoit name. To view it, go to www.wwe.com/shows/thegreatamericanbash/history/.

Niraj sent this in: I searched for Chris Benoit on the WWE.com search bar and I clicked on the first link which said: “WWE: Subscriptions > WWE 24/7 Online > Chris Benoit…. Matches. WCW Nitro – Ric Flair, Chris Benoit & Steve McMichael vs. Team Piper consisted of Roddy Piper, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael and Jeff Jarrett.” When I clicked on the link, it returned to the home page. They seem to have completely terminated Benoit from existence in the WWE, ECW and when he belonged to WCW.

Kyle Congdon sent this in: It seems not every Benoit thing is gone (on WWE.com). If you put Benoit’s name in the search section you find over ten pages of stuff.
