Chris Benoit was apparently concerned that WWE would cut his pay in his new contract and felt the transfer to ECW was a like a move to oblivion. It is not known if Benoit knew WWE was planning to have him win the ECW title at the Vengeance PPV or if he may have known but not believed it.
Benoit was becoming more paranoid and believed he and his family was being stalked.
Believing he was being followed, Benoit would take different routes home from the airport.
The police do not believe Benoit succumb to â~roid rage,â but feel the use of steroids may have contributed to his paranoia of the past several months.
